"Still The Greatest Reggae Band On The Planet!" Shows 2005

 REFLECTIONS ON THE YEAR

January was a great time to get away from wintery England and head for some warmth and sunshine in the Caribbean.

February - Black History Month - was busy with shows across the USA mainland and even out to Hawaii.

Summer time quickly rolled around and in June we were back in the USA going to lots of familiar places and seeing lots of warm, friendly, familiar faces. We finished June not in Misery but very happily in Missouri (it's how you pronounce it!).

July was a very different sort of month - with shows in America, France, North Africa and Japan.   Wow, Japan is a long way from London!! But it was also another great experience, with another great set of fans.

Casablanca Morocco was something else -- very special. Even with rifle-armed soldiers and police guarding the open air venues, the several thousand fans at each show were just incredible - full of joy and goodness.  Warm summer nights with gentle breeze - perfect!

August and we were back in Europe - France, Holland and Scandanavia. We especially were delighted to have URBAN TRIBE from Stockholm, Sweden do three openers for us.  Up to then we had only heard their music on their debut album, Bob's Bar. We very much liked what we heard, so we were thrilled to have them with us in Sweden and Norway.  Being on the road with them, getting to know Adam and his band members personally and hearing them do live performances only confirmed our first impressions - that here is a new band that will continue to make a huge impression on the reggae music scene around the world. Big UPs to Adam and URBAN TRIBE.  August finished with a trio of shows way back round the globe in Hawaii -- now you know how it feels to be a yoyo.

Reggae Rockz in September was a great return to Birmingham after quite a few years absence.  Open-air show in the heart of Birmingham City.

October started with some more shows in America - Arizona and California. It felt great to be back in Birmingham for some shows @ The Drum, and Shrewsbury along with several shows in Holland, and the Mean Fiddler in London.

The past few weeks starting with The Steel Pan Festival in Trinidad and then covering Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru were just as inspiring and motivational for all the band.  South America is also a very big place!!

More commentary will be coming from the band members who have been on the road, when they get home and have a well-earned rest.

APPRECIATION AND RESPECT

Pulsers, everywhere! For those of you we got to visit, we express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for your love, friendship and hospitality. For those who could not get to, we wish we could get to all of you, we love and appreciate you all as friends and fans just as much.  With 30 years under the belt, and another 30 on the cards we will continue to reach out to the Steel Pulse Fans around the world, the greatest fans in the world!

LOOKING AHEAD TO NEXT YEAR

We are making arrangements for more shows in the USA during February 2006 - Black History Month, and will let everyone know details when the shows are confirmed.  We also will be doing more shows around the globe besides the USA -- watch this space
